Gas burners ticking without a flame, a coil element glowing on full no matter the dial, or an induction ring ignoring the pot? Our technician visits, sorts out what failed and have every burner cooking again.

Gas or electric, a Tay cooktop that stops working usually has one of the problems below, listed with the first parts we look at.
A heat-cracked electrode, a cap knocked off-centre, or holes plugged with boiled-over pasta water.
Water seeping under the surface during cleaning, or an igniter switch jammed on.
An element burned through, a scorched terminal block, or a switch that no longer passes current.
The control switch fused its contacts, so that element runs flat out wherever the knob points.
Pots that aren't magnetic, a dead power module, or the internal fan seizing up.
Partly blocked ports, a regulator out of adjustment, or the air mixer closed down too far.
Stove types we fix
From the fridge that came with the cottage to a laundry pair bought last year, our technicians work on these makes all the time.

Glass-top and induction models flash letters and numbers when a fault turns up. Look it up here before reaching for the phone.

Kitchens around Tay with every burner back in use.
Couldn't get two burners going for a week, just clicking. He found a cracked electrode on one and gunk on the other. Both catch first try now.
The big coil on our range would only run on high. He replaced the switch that same afternoon.
Whatever pan I put down, the induction top showed an error. New power board, and he showed me which of my pots actually work on it.
Lots of stove trouble comes from a cap sitting crooked or the wrong cookware. Check these first.
Power and gas on
Dead controls everywhere? Reset the breaker, and for gas, check that the shutoff behind the range is open.
Caps seated flat
Caps removed, wiped off and placed back sitting flat.
Ports clear
After cooling, burner holes cleaned with a stiff brush and a pin.
Pan suits the ring
For induction, a fridge magnet should cling to the bottom, and the pan should cover most of the zone.
