Jeans needing a second run, a drum turning without any warmth, or a squeal loud enough to reach the deck? A technician drives out, finds what wore out and get every load finishing dry the first time.

These six faults cover most of the dryer work we do around Tay. Listed under each are the components tested up front.
An element that burned open, a blown one-time fuse, or a gas burner whose igniter heats up but never sparks a flame.
The drive belt broke, the idler wheel wore down, or the motor can no longer get the drum moving.
Rollers worn flat, a rear bearing gone dry, or felt strips coming apart at the front lip.
Fabric softener film on the moisture sensor bars, or a cycling thermostat that cuts out far too soon.
A door switch that doesn't register the door, a worn start switch, or a board with no power reaching it.
A safety thermostat stuck shut or a sensor reporting the wrong temperature. Please leave it switched off until we test it.
Dryer types we fix
From the fridge that came with the cottage to a laundry pair bought last year, our technicians work on these makes all the time.

A dryer that stops short often flashes a code on the way out. Check yours below to see whether it's something you can handle.

Laundry days around the bay, wrapped up on the first try again.
Cold air only, for a week. A new heating coil went in during the visit; now the towels are toasty when the buzzer goes.
Our dryer screeched like a gull every time it ran. He swapped the rollers and belt. It's quiet enough now that I forget it's on.
I was sure it was the whole board. Nope, just a coating on the sensor bars from softener sheets. He cleaned them, explained why, and charged me a fair amount.
Some dryer stoppages need no parts at all. Try these first.
Breaker checked
On electric models the breaker is a double one; turn it fully off, then on again.
Lint screen clear
Pulled out, emptied and washed under the tap when softener sheets leave it slick.
Door clicks shut
No sock or sleeve pinched at the seal, and a solid click on closing.
Room to tumble
Oversized loads divided in two, giving everything room to fall and turn.
